Metro Thunderbolt 2300W DC-to-DC Charger delivers a 40A current and has an input voltage of 12V and output of 58V. It is installed on the alternator of a diesel of gas car. With a power rating of 2300W, this charger powers a 48V battery or power station in as little as 1.5 hours On-Board!

The DC-to-DC charger amps should not exceed 50% of the alternator’s output current. If an alternator has at 80Ah, the DC-to-DC charger should not exceed 40 amps. An average car’s alternator has between 80-100 Ah.
